Sala Thai Restaurant Tempe Introduce
For residents and visitors of the Phoenix Metro area, Sala Thai Restaurant Tempe offers a culinary escape straight to the bustling streets of Thailand. Known locally as Sala Thai Supper Club, this Tempe location takes a unique approach, focusing on bringing the authentic, undiscovered side of Thai street food and traditional regional flavors to Arizona. Far from a generic Asian eatery, Sala Thai is a multi-location, family-owned establishment that has been a cornerstone of the Phoenix culinary scene for over two decades, celebrated for its unwavering commitment to traditional recipes, the use of fresh ingredients, and genuine, kind hospitality.
The dining experience here is consistently lauded as excellent, with a menu that perfectly balances beloved classics—like their "killer" Pad Thai and rich curries—with more adventurous street food staples. Reviewers frequently comment on the food’s authentic flavor profile, with many considering it some of the best Thai food they have had outside of Thailand itself. The cozy, beautiful restaurant, combined with the incredibly welcoming staff and fresh, well-prepared meals, solidifies Sala Thai Tempe's reputation as a must-visit spot for anyone craving high-quality, authentic Thai cuisine.
This Tempe spot intentionally deviates from the standard menu of their sister locations to bring a smaller, more focused selection that emphasizes bold and complex flavors, perfectly embodying the spirit of Thai street food—quick, flavorful, and accessible. Whether you’re stopping by for a comforting lunch, a savory dinner, or a late-night bite, Sala Thai promises a warm ambiance and dishes bursting with the true tonality of Thai spices.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Small but beautiful restaurant with a lovely style and amicable staff. It was a bit busy but luckily we were able to get a table and our dishes came quickly after ordering. The food was 10/10- went with some friends and we got the Khao Moo Dang, drunken noodles, pad see ew, and curry noodles, and everything was delicious! I personally got the Khao Moo Dang and the skewers were tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, and the side sauce had a nice kick. Will definitely be going back again!
July 29 · Rhi HuangI’ve been to Sala Thai a few times now and every visit just confirms why it’s one of my favorite spots. The food is consistently excellent my go-to dishes are the tom yum, their rich curries, drunken noodles, and the crab omelette. Everything always tastes fresh and well-prepared.The staff and owners are incredibly welcoming and kind which makes the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself is tidy and well-kept, so you can really enjoy your meal in a comfortable space. They recently did a fun collaboration for their dessert, and it was a nice touch that showed they put creativity and care into their menu.I’d recommend Sala Thai to anyone, you can’t go wrong at any of their locations. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving great Thai food.
September 14 · Mr. PogiSuper cute decor and cozy, but small with limited seating. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Thai Tea was delicious. Garlic wings had a bit too much bread to offset the chicken and barely tasted chicken. Would have stuck with the skewers and the chili sauce, which was very yummy. Pad Thai was good, but stir fried noodles so had some crunchy areas which I don't love in my noodles.
August 31 · Bridget litalienWe were looking for a Thai restaurant to celebrate my birthday and stumbled upon this spot in Tempe near Broadway. It’s easy to find, and when we walked in, the place looked cute as a button — cozy, limited seating, with couches and chairs that gave it more of a café vibe. While the couches were comfortable, they weren’t the most practical for dining. The ambiance felt fresh and modern, and the menu was surprisingly extensive — covering appetizers, stir-fries, curries, noodles, rice, and specialties. For starters, we tried the chicken satay and shrimp tempura. The chicken satay was delicious — nicely grilled, juicy, and full of flavor. The shrimp tempura, however, was a letdown. It lacked flavor and came off a bit too bland. For mains, we ordered the Khao Soi (curry noodles) and Suki Hang. Presentation was excellent and thoughtfully done. The curry noodles, though, were just okay — the coconut-based curry was overpowering and felt more like sipping straight curry than enjoying a balanced noodle dish. The Suki Hang was good, but overall the food leaned more modern and Americanized than authentic Thai.We ended with mango sticky rice. The mango was fresh and generously portioned, but the sticky rice was average compared to other versions I’ve had.Overall, it’s a nice spot with reasonable prices, but not the most authentic Thai experience. I’d come back for a light bite, maybe a salad, but as a whole it was an average experience.
August 29 · Greeshma RaghavendraWhat a pleasant surprise in Phoenix! Didn’t expect such lovely Thai food and excellent service, but here we are. I really enjoyed everything, but I enjoyed the Thai fried rice with shrimp the most. You won’t go wrong here and it’s a really cool vibe for an intimate date night too.**Please follow me on Instagram & TikTok @NickEatzWorld and check out all my reviews and travel recommendations**
