★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I decided to try this location based on the reviews. I’m glad I did. My order was excellent! I got the catfish & chicken combo—everything was made fresh, hot, and seasoned just right. And let me tell you, it was a lot of food for such a reasonable price. Well worth it.Shout out to Peanut and Cosha—two of the friendliest people I’ve run into in a long time. They made the experience even better with their welcoming vibe and great service. Now let’s talk about that red velvet cake… Hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. I knew I was wrong veering off my eating plan, but I didn’t just slip—I dove head first into that slice and didn’t look back! 🫣Thank you for an amazing meal! The drive was definitely worth it. I’ll be back—no question.
August 03 · Emma Lea JacksonI saw Southern Fried pop up in a Phoenix group and headed out to try the food based off the photos. I have passed this place multiple times and I never paid attention to it. I ordered the salmon croquettes, greens, yams, and a side of mac and cheese.I strongly suggest if you want a taste of Southern food, go ahead and try them. The croquettes were very flavorful and seasoned with bell peppers and onions. They were moist and crispy on the outside. The mac was good. The yams were just sweet enough. Not too sweet, but enough to double as dinner and dessert. The greens were a bit salty, but I used the cornbread to cut the taste. The cornbread was good as well. It was on the sweet side, but it worked well as a way to sop up the greens. I was very surprised that I was also offered a taste of their sweet potato cornbread. It was really good. I tried to make some several times, and I haven't been able to master this recipe. The staff was very friendly. They were personable and attentive. Due to the heat and the lack of AC I felt like I was at my grandmother's house. So, you really get a homestyle vibe from the place. Don't expect to sit down and eat. This is a to-go spot. Now, if it wasn't 108 outside, I probably would have sat at the one high top table, but it's really not a place to dine. Take your food home and enjoy. The total cost for my meal was $22. The mac was extra.
July 06 · Wheel toLiveOrdered the most basic burger called K-9. GREAT homemade taste. Very casual place. Nice gentleman took the order and seems he was the only one there. No public restrooms. Also No Air conditioning. Food is packaged to go. Have been there a few times over the last 6 months or so. Spaghetti on the menu once when I visited but haven't been able to try it yet. K-9 cheeseburger is very good.
March 25 · Alex SFinally tried this place, after being recommended to my boyfriend from the owner. Shrimp was some of the best seasoned I've had. Definitely get the loaded potato and add the brisket 👌. Fish and chicken were on point too. We expected hot wing size chicken, and got full wing and drum pieces with the order. The bbq sauce they give was very tasty. Only downside was the onion rings were over fried, fries were a little soggy, and we were hoping for an in-house made tartar sauce since everything else seemed to be. Overall great place to check out.
February 24 · Virginia AlvaradoI stop in here last Sunday and baby let me tell you they are on point! I ordered catfish, shrimp and chicken wings and couple of sides everything and I mean everything was delicious! The price and customer service was on point also! The owner gave me a free dessert because they were out of one of the sides I ordered and that was so unexpected and kind of her. I’ve been telling all my friends about how good the food is and I can’t wait to go back! Hands down some of the best soul food in PHX!!
