eegee's Introduce
For Arizonans, the name eegee's evokes a powerful sense of local pride and a delicious defense against the desert heat. What began in Tucson in 1971 as a frozen lemonade vending truck has blossomed into an iconic quick-service restaurant chain known statewide for its signature frozen fruit drink—the "eegee"—and its freshly prepared subs, salads, and fries. The eegee is not a typical slushie or Italian ice; it is a unique, silky-smooth, icy treat packed with real fruit and beloved for its texture and flavor, which includes year-round favorites like Lemon, Strawberry, and Piña Colada, plus an exciting rotating "Flavor of the Month."
The presence of eegee's at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) in Terminal 4 offers travelers, particularly those familiar with the brand, a welcome taste of authentic Arizona. While many of the chain's traditional locations are celebrated for their drive-through convenience, the airport location is a dine-in and takeout spot in a high-traffic food court. Here, the focus remains on delivering the menu’s core stars: the hearty, made-to-order Grinders and Subs, the famous crinkle-cut Fries, and of course, the incredibly refreshing eegee drinks. It is a reliable choice for those seeking a quick and casual meal, often praised for being a better-than-average fast-food alternative.
As a local favorite, eegee's is also renowned for its custom Ranch Dressing, which is so popular it's considered a signature offering and a perfect dipping companion for their fries. The restaurant prides itself on being a quick bite destination suitable for solo dining, a casual spot for tourists, and a family-friendly option with dedicated Kids Meals. Though service speed can sometimes be a challenge during peak airport hours, as noted in customer feedback, the appeal of the iconic food remains a powerful draw for those who grew up with or have come to love this Arizona staple.

For Arizonans and visitors who want to experience a true piece of local food culture, eegee's is worth choosing primarily for its iconic signature items. The eegee frozen drink is the undisputed champion and an essential experience, particularly the Lemon or the Piña Colada flavors. Pairing one of these icy, fresh fruit treats with a savory item is the classic approach. The Original Grinder and the Pastrami Grinder are highly recommended by local customers and offer a satisfying, freshly prepared sandwich experience that is generally superior to typical fast-food fare. The Cheesy Bacon Fries or the Ranch-dipped Crinkle Fries are a mandatory side order to complete the authentic eegee's experience.
However, potential customers, especially those on a tight schedule, should manage expectations regarding the service pace. Customer feedback indicates that long waits can occur, even with short lines, suggesting occasional staffing or operational challenges common in busy airport locations. Furthermore, while the majority of the menu is excellent, the breakfast offerings have received criticism; one reviewer noted the breakfast wrap included "powdered chunks of yellow goop" and "grease soaked fries," recommending travelers avoid breakfast items if they are expecting quick, high-quality, on-the-go fare. When choosing eegee's, stick to its core strengths—the iconic frozen drinks and the classic, delicious grinders and fries—for the most satisfying and authentic Arizona treat.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1For a place that has "egg" in the name you would think that they wouldn't serve powdered chunks of yellow goop. Served alongside grease soaked fries. Had to use a fork and spoon to eat it due to the wrap melting apart by the time I sat down to eat. What remained did have decent taste. Overall, don't expect something quick to eat on the go unless you are definitely passing a restroom and don't care about staining your shirt.
May 23 · JoeAmberEegee’s is a sandwich and salad place inside the small food court across from the Chase lounge. A little overpriced, but otherwise OK, and you can get half sandwiches and save some money if you just want something small.
May 14 · Steve TakataWe stopped at Eegee’s and ordered the 4 chicken strips with fries. Everything came out hot and tasty, which we appreciated. The fries could’ve been a bit crispier, but overall the meal was satisfying. It was served in sturdy containers, which are great if you need to grab and go. The shared seating area with nearby restaurants was convenient, and we didn’t have any trouble finding a place to sit. Solid option for a quick, hot meal!
April 17 · Rylee RoseI've never had eegees before and was surprised to find the Pina colada drink has long/big strings of coconut in it - not a texture I like. Just thought I'd give others a heads up this isn't the smooth creamy pina colada you may expect, it's more like a slushy with coconut pieces in it - something many would like! Otherwise my interaction with the employee was very nice , she was patient while I decided and was very kind
May 22 · HearthMonths ago, I walked from the farthest reaches of terminal 4 to get a grinder and an eegee. The line was long and slow. I told myself, 'I won't do that again...' Don't get me wrong, the food was good, just not worth the hour walk wait and walk.I must have lost my mind cause i went back today....Chick fil a was a super long line. I watched dozens of people go through that line before I was able to order at eegees. There were only 4 orders in front of me. After waiting over twenty minutes to place my order... it was not right. In their defense, there was one girl taking orders. She also filled the eegees cups. Two guys are talking in the back, making the sandwiches. After getting my order, I raced back to the opposite side of the airport terminal to find that my order had tomatoes. Tomatoes don't agree with me. Not wanting to walk all the way back I called the number on the receipt. Choosing the options of operator and customer service both sent me to a full voice mail.I am disappointed because I love eegees from tucson but their expanding into the phx metro has been awful customer service especially at the airport.
