Pizzeria Bianco Introduce
Pizzeria Bianco, situated in the heart of Historic Heritage Square in Downtown Phoenix, is not just a pizza restaurant; it is a landmark establishment widely credited with pioneering the artisanal pizza movement in the United States. Since its founding by James Beard Award-winning Chef Chris Bianco, this location has become synonymous with some of the best pizza in the country, transforming a simple dish into a recognized local specialty of Arizona. The restaurant's philosophy is rooted in simplicity, quality, and sincerity, using meticulously sourced ingredients, including house-made mozzarella, organic flour, and high-quality tomatoes like Bianco DiNapoli.
The atmosphere at Pizzeria Bianco is a unique blend of "Casual, Cozy, Historic, Lively, and Trendy." Housed within the charm of a restored historic building, the venue offers a distinctive, authentic dining environment that attracts a diverse crowd of college students, local groups, and national tourists. Despite its humble origins, the reputation of the wood-fired pies—each cooked in a visible, traditional oven—has resulted in national recognition and fervent local loyalty. Patrons are drawn to the short, focused menu, which features a few legendary pizza options, alongside simple appetizers, Italian sandwiches, and fresh, seasonal salads. This Downtown Phoenix gem stands as a must-visit culinary destination, offering a transcendent pizza experience built on fresh, seasonal, and sincere ingredients.
The restaurant functions as a full-service Italian and Family restaurant, emphasizing table service and a memorable dining experience. It is particularly popular for both lunch and dinner, catering effectively to solo diners as well as groups.
The original and iconic Pizzeria Bianco is ideally located within the charming, historic setting of Heritage Square in Downtown Phoenix, placing it conveniently near the city’s core attractions, including the Phoenix Convention Center and the Light Rail system.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Well worth the hype. It was packed even on a Monday afternoon, when we found outside seating. Quick service from helpful staff. Pizzas are absolute bomb, especially The Wiseguy — hands down the best. Second comes either the pistachio with cheddar OR feta with greens on top. Great combination both of them. You can’t go wrong here!
October 12 · Jayesh Shinde1st of all, service was so good! The workers were so genuine and took such good care of us.There was no wait and we walked right in. We got our pizza maybe 10 mins after we ordered, which seemed surprisingly fast.It was delicious!!The Bianco Verde was our favorite, highly recommend. The Farmers Market salad was amazing as well.Everything we ate was such good quality. It’s worth the hype.
September 01 · Morgan JenkinsIf you are looking for a quick bite, this is not the place for you. It took about 40 minutes for us to get our one pizza we ordered. It was well worth the wait though, some of the best pizza I have had in Phoenix. We got the margarita pizza, added sausage and onion. The vibes are cozy, I wish I would have gotten more photos. It is not a very big place so not a great place for a large group.
September 13 · Kira SicBest pizza I've ever had. Notice how the thin crust supports the toppings without bending, and it's perfectly toasted. The fennel sausage in the "Wiseguy" pizza had perfect flavor. The house-made mozzarella is incredibly fresh with such flavorful basil leaves. The staff all pitch in to help each other and create such a wonderful vibe that displays their pride in the food they serve. Watch how this chef searched relentlessly for perfect ingredients in the Netflix "Chef's Table Pizza" season 1 episode 1.
September 19 · Tom ElwoodFresh, hot, and delicious pizzas! I got a margherita with wood mushrooms and he got a (Rosa) pistachio pizza. We went on a Monday afternoon after probably a lunch rush went through. Lots of staff but not as many people in there. I've been in here before when it was a busy Saturday and the place was slammed.Nice atmosphere, nice vibe. For us it's a once in a year kind of visit for a birthday celebration but this time it was the first time during a slower afternoon which was a nice quieter pace.Worth the visit and the paid concierge parking. Definitely will be back.
