Zipps Sports Grill Introduce
For residents across Arizona looking for the quintessential American sports bar experience that blends a lively atmosphere with a wide-ranging menu of comfort classics, Zipps Sports Grill stands out as a prime local destination. This venue expertly combines the thrill of game-day viewing with a menu that appeals to virtually everyone, from families to college students and local groups. Located right here in Phoenix, Zipps is more than just a bar; it’s a full-service American restaurant, a dedicated chicken wings and hamburger spot, a pizza parlor, and a go-to lunch location, all rolled into one dynamic setting. It proudly serves up a taste of local specialty items alongside established favorites, making it a reliable fixture in the local dining scene.
The atmosphere at Zipps is consistently described as casual and trendy, making it an ideal place to unwind after work, gather friends for a game, or bring the family out for an easy dinner. Their commitment to the sports viewing experience is clear, positioning them as a top-tier choice for any sports fan in the greater Phoenix area. While the dining experience is generally robust, offering everything from quick bites to late-night food, the service highlights include a notable focus on speed, ensuring that patrons often receive their orders promptly. However, recent local feedback suggests that while the service is often fast, particularly for drinks and initial orders, there can occasionally be long wait times for food during certain periods, a factor visitors should keep in mind, especially during peak hours. Patrons have consistently praised the quality of specific items, with the pizza often receiving high marks for its perfectly balanced crust and toppings.
The menu at Zipps Sports Grill is designed to satisfy a wide array of cravings typical of American comfort food. For those seeking familiar favorites, the menu delivers with satisfying options across several categories. Appetizers include the classic Corn Dog Basket priced at $11.00 and Chicken Fingers for $10.00. Salad enthusiasts can choose from the fresh Caesar Salad at $9.00 or the more substantial Ranch Chop Salad for $14.00. The sandwich selection features items like the Buffalo Chicken sandwich for $11.00 and the Chicken Breast Sandwich at $10.00. Their dedicated Zipps Burgers section offers the BBQ Bacon and the fiery Scorch Burger, both available for $13.00. Finally, for a unique take on a classic, the Focaccias—such as the Golden Focaccia and the Pepper Jack Focaccia—are popular choices, also priced at $13.00. This variety ensures that whether you're craving a burger, pizza, a salad, or their famous wings (which have been noted as sometimes needing extra sauce), there's a satisfying dish waiting.

What is Worth Choosing Zipps Sports Grill
Choosing Zipps Sports Grill is choosing a venue that understands the local Arizona demand for a casual, high-energy environment paired with satisfying American fare. It is the premier location for those who want a great cocktail or a beer from an extensive list while rooting for their favorite team. For the dining experience, what truly sets Zipps apart is its fantastic pizza—a consistently praised menu item that is often highlighted as a must-try. This particular offering has a reputation for a perfect crust and balanced ingredients, standing out even among the rich competition in Phoenix. Furthermore, their specialization as a Hamburger restaurant and Chicken wings restaurant means that those core comfort cravings are always well-catered to.
While the overall experience is strong, it is worth noting the current local feedback, which highlights that while the service staff—particularly bartenders and young servers—are often attentive, friendly, and exceptional, there can be inconsistencies with food preparation speed, particularly during non-peak times. Customers have noted that orders can take an extended time, even when the restaurant appears slow. Additionally, while the wings are a staple, customers recommend being proactive about sauce, as some have found them dry and have even been charged for extra sauce on the side, a point of minor friction.
Despite these minor operational inconsistencies reported by recent visitors, the core value proposition of Zipps remains solid: a fantastic sports atmosphere, an excellent variety of drinks, strong service personnel, and reliably good staples like their pizza and burgers. The fact that it is popular for lunch, dinner, and solo dining confirms its versatility and broad appeal to the community. Zipps is an excellent, locally established option for your next casual dining experience or game-day viewing party in Phoenix.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I decided to give Zipps another try after not coming here for about six years, and honestly, it was a mixed experience at best. The highlight of the meal was definitely the pizza—it was very solid, I’d give it a good 8.5 out of 10. The crust had a nice crunch, the cheese was melted just right, and the toppings were balanced. If I had only ordered the pizza, I probably would’ve walked away satisfied.Unfortunately, everything else I ordered fell flat. The wings were a huge disappointment. They came out like very mildly coated in sauce, which left them tasting dry and unappetizing. Nobody goes out looking for dry wings. To make matters worse, I had to ask for extra sauce on the side, and instead of just fixing the mistake, they charged me for a tiny container of it—big thumbs down for that move. The mozzarella spring rolls didn’t do much to impress either; they were just average at best, nothing worth ordering again. The one bright spot outside of the pizza was the young server who helped us. He was attentive, friendly, and seemed to genuinely care about making sure we were taken care of. Honestly, his service was the best part of the experience outside of the pizza itself.Still, when I put it all together, Zipps just didn’t deliver for me. The pizza was good, but everything else was underwhelming, and the extra charge for sauce left a bad taste. If I’m being honest, I won’t be coming back.
August 31 · Kevin CrayWhat happened to our favorite happy hour spot? It used to be a highlight of our week, but this visit turned into more of a disappointing hour.We noticed right away that the staff has changed some of our favorite bartenders and servers are gone, replaced by new faces. That said, our bartender was fantastic, friendly, polite, and provided excellent service. We arrived around 5:30 on a Wednesday, and the place wasn’t busy at all...perfect, we thought. We ordered drinks and food and enjoyed three drinks between the two of us. But the food? After 50 minutes, it still wasn’t ready. At the one hour mark, we decided to cash out and leave but still hungry. We’re patient people, especially since my husband is a retired executive chef, but an hour wait for sandwiches? We joked that we could’ve gone into the kitchen and made them ourselves. Not sure what’s going on, Zipps, but we hope this was just an off night. Please don’t lose the fun atmosphere and great service that made this place so special. We still tipped our bartender, cancelled the food, and ended up going to Fry’s to buy our own ingredients to make our own "Zipps" at home.
July 16 · Misha BI go out to lunch on Fridays as a treat and YES, the food was good, YES the service was good but my experience was unenjoyable. THE MUSIC WAS ABSOLUTLEY HORRIBLE. When we first got there, the music was fine. Some rock and 80s, 90s mainstream music and just when Danger Zone came on, the music switched to stuff I had never, ever heard. All of the customers were in their 40s and 50s. I asked our server what happened to the music and she said that the 'new manager' changed it. I stated that the music is for us ... the customers ... not them. She said she let them know but it never changed the entire time we were there. I asked for a manager. He was there - Tom - a thin balding guy but never came over. Supposedly he was on a conference call. Ummm -- okay. Another server there, young, dark long hair, in a braid is who I think changed the music. Our server said something to her and she changed it to something equally as awful and then proceeded to stare me down from behind the counter by the kitchen window. The music is fairly loud ... not subtle background music. I am hearing impaired so I'm sure it's louder than what I think it was. Bottom line is that it ruined the experience and I didn't appreciate the stare down. Unfortunately, it's a one and done for us. You obviously don't care about the customer's experience.
October 17 · KelliI usually would drive all the way downtown for their Zipps on central but I’ll definitely come back to this location for future games. We wanted a women’s meetup for happy hour and to watch the Phoenix Mercury game. They turned on tvs in the bars for us, a manager and waiter checked on us diligently and we had great happy hour prices until 7pm!
October 03 · Julie CoburnOutstanding service and food. You will not be disappointed. I give 5 stars all day. Thank you for a great experience every time we come in.
