July 05 · Jenghiz StewartThe other night I was finally able to try The Market by Jennifer’s after hearing about it so many times. The restaurant is tucked away in an alley in Arcadia but has such a great vibe when you walk in. The kitchen is huge and open to the restaurant and there are so many great drink options.The Chicken Satay was perfectly fried chicken with a delicious blue cheese dipping sauce. The Gnocchi dish was one of the more creative dishes I have had. The tomato-vodka sauce was thick and creamy but wasn’t overpowering so the taste of mushrooms and spinach still came through along with the slow-roasted pork. I need to go back and try more dishes here!
October 20 · carter kabotWe were excited to try this place but our server, although very nice, seemed very overwhelmed with the 5 tables in there at the time of our visit. We had family in from out of town and decided to try this place for the 1st time. The burger was overcooked and very charred. The French dips were completely raw. Red, cold and raw. I get that’s a desired temp for some but that should reflect on the menu or verbal from the server. She never came back to check on us so we couldn’t ask to bring them up (in temp) a little. The French toast was so good but he literally got the HEEL of the bread! I mean….what? The condiments with it were so good, the fruit was beautiful and tasty then we get the heel of the bread? The chilequiles were decent enough but overall experience was poor. The drinks were weak, the tables were all wobbly and at different levels so it was just uncomfortable trying to share things. We definitely won’t be back and I’m irritated we took our out of town guests across town to try this when there are some fantastic options in town.
May 12 · Christina MI've been wanting to come here for quite some time. The vibe is great and I love the space. It took quite a while to be approached with the opportunity to get a drink which seemed odd as it wasn't busy and our server passed us up several times, maybe she just had a lot on her mind but it was noticeable that we had been sitting for a while with nothing on the table. I was here for restaurant week with a friend and we were a little disappointed with the portions. It felt like you got a bit less for what you were actually paying for. The presentation was nice and the flavor and taste of the food was great. But I will say that I would probably not come back here for restaurant week, specifically, I definitely left still very much hungry even after having their "3-course meal". I am curious as to how their normal menu is. So I am willing to come back and see if we can get that fifth star added based on a normal evening.
September 29 · Rico LavenderWe had reservations at the Century Grand, which doesn't serve food, so we decided to stop at The Market by Jennifer's beforehand for a bite to eat. I'd never been here before, but they were nearby and offered vegetarian options. It just happened to be restaurant week, so we were able to try out the special menu. Everything we tried was delicious. I was very pleased with the vegetarian selection. I love that more and more restaurants are offering vegetarian and vegan dishes.The restaurant didn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is clean and comfortable. You can see into the kitchen area, which is pretty cool. The service was good. The restrooms were clean. I'd go back if in the area.
