★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Bad Jimmy’s? More like Good Decisions, Great Burgers, and Excellent Life Choices.Checked it out again yesterday and for the third time in just a few weeks, I left full, happy, and slightly obsessed. Let’s get this out of the way: the smash burgers here? Easily among the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly crisped edges, juicy center, flavor that makes you momentarily reconsider every past burger relationship you’ve ever had. And don’t even get me started on the waffle fries. On. Point. Now let’s talk about the vibe. It’s giving fun, fast-casual cool without trying too hard. The music’s bumpin’, the energy’s high, and the staff? Top-tier. Especially the girl behind the counter, she’s been there all three times I’ve visited and crushed it every time. I didn’t catch her name, but I can confirm that every straight male friend I’ve brought with me is now madly in love with her. Is it her friendly attitude? Her tattoos? The burger sorcery she delivers with a smile? We may never know, but either way, she’s a star.Bonus points for the red cream soda on the fountain (aka the nectar of the gods), and a full bar for when you want to really get smashed. I’ve yet to try the soft serve, but when I do, it’ll be the vanilla with olive oil and sea salt, because I’m classy like that.10/10, will absolutely be back. Again. And again. And again.
August 03 · XTopher TravelsBad Jimmy’s— a burger joint with a “Back to the Future” aura, but with “back to McDonald’s” prices. As excited as one can be trying a new food joint, that light was dimmed immensely by the attitude of the cashier. It almost felt like it was an inconvenience to place my order. I placed my order, and as I am doing so, the crew behind the counter give you a blank stare— almost as if you don’t belong. There also seemed to be an unofficial dress code, and granted when one is in downtown Phoenix, you have to dress to impress however, this places stares you down. I could easily walk into say Matt’s down the street, or even the Henry with shorts and a t-shirt, and I would probably feel more comfortable there than here. Perhaps I was thinking it too much, but oh well.I was served my food almost 20 minutes later, and to be honest with you, I was impressed. The flavor of the burger was good, the seasoning of the waffle fries was spot on, and they had a variety of soft drinks that you could refill on until your bladder can no longer take it. Remember, stock up on ketchup because you want sauce? Almost $3 extra per cup.As I was leaving the place, I couldn’t get the question out of my mind: would I come back again? The answer? Maybe. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good, but not for a repetitive visit unless you want to keep transferring from savings to checking.
August 26 · Estevan CorralGood day everyone, it has been awhile but I am back if but only for a moment. I am happy to say that Bad Jimmy's was a recommendation that came to us and it truly is like that!! It has a diner type vibe with cozy comfortable music. We went in not knowing what to expect and were immediately greeted by Bailey who I gathered was the greeter/bartender/server. We had many questions and she very cheerfully accommodated us no matter the question. We asked about the ambience, vibe, food, and what it was like here on different days. Bailey also told us to come back on the weekend days/nights as they sometimes do desserts or a different flair on menu items. Now on to the food. The burgers remind of a chain that seasons and thins their burgers out, so that it is bigger than the bun and that is where the comparison ends. The food is presented well and made for you true enough, but to me it seems like it was personally made just for you and you only in my humble opinion. If you get my meaning. It is an absolutely outstanding burger joint that will surprise you with their take on wings as well. Everything is great and we just wanted to sit there and relax and not leave. The portions were just enough to take the hunger away without making you feel overfull. When you first enter, there is a small diner area with tables area where you can sit or order, if you proceed left they have a full bar and tables and a big booth, and finally they have a patio with nice amenities and it's fully functional. I do like pictures and the decor as well. I will be coming back to meet the other people, eat, enjoy, and relax. Go and partake and enjoy, and tell Bailey I said hi. You will love it!!
October 02 · Steven HarrisThis place is pretty cool! The vibes were great from the moment we walked in. It had a nice decor and plenty of table, bar and patio seating. The prices are good for the quality of the burgers which we thought were yummy. No frills, good food. They also offer a bar with a selection of drinks and cocktails which we didn’t get to try but will try next time. The service was quick and friendly. We got our food in about 15 minutes but I really liked the atmosphere of this place.
June 08 · KatalinaIf you’re in the area and craving a smashed burger, Bad Jimmy’s is the place to be! The burger was absolutely delicious, the fries were perfectly seasoned, and the ranch—amazing. The only downside is the limited seating. There’s outdoor seating, but on a hot day the heat (and the flies) can be a bit much. Once we snagged a spot inside, though, the cool vibe and great food made it totally worth it.
