Located in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, Taco Guild offers local diners an experience that is far from conventional. While the city is rich with Mexican cuisine, Taco Guild elevates the experience by combining gourmet, globally inspired taco creations with a truly unforgettable atmosphere. The restaurant is housed within a beautifully restored, historic Methodist Church, providing a backdrop of stunning stained-glass windows, high wood-paneled ceilings, and rich architectural details that lend a sense of grandeur and history to every meal.
Taco Guild is not merely a taco shop; it is a full-service Mexican restaurant and upscale bar that has mastered the art of adaptive reuse, creating a trendy, cozy, and historic environment popular with diverse crowds, from college students to tourists and families. The menu, classified as a taco restaurant, bar, and Mexican restaurant, focuses on innovative flavor profiles and high-quality ingredients, moving beyond traditional street food to offer a culinary “guild” of carefully crafted dishes. The core concept revolves around unique, chef-driven tacos, such as the Lamb, Barbacoa, and the notable Chipotle Cherry Steak, alongside hearty entrées and an impressive beverage program. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This was my first time but definitely not my last. We didn’t want to fight rush hour after a flight into PHX so we grabbed dinner on a Friday night. The food was amazing from order to table was no more than 15 minutes! The server was amazing and attentive! The atmosphere was a vibe. The music by Jeremiah Gold was wonderful. To catch the live music go Friday or Saturday night 6-8pm.
October 04 · Mindy TerryI loved the architecture of this restaurant, the stain-glass windows and high wood-paneled ceiling. The service was amazing. The tacos are about $8-12 each. Rice and beans are an extra $4 each. The California taco was delicious with lots of meat but the fish and the scallop taco didn't have very little of the seafood. I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. Appetizers are $2 off during happy hour.
September 04 · Val StringhamIf only words could explain how much this place impressed me. As a man from Dallas, I will say the food is not traditional but its transcendent of regular food. The combination of the service the food and the atmosphere are something everyone should have. The cherry Chipotle steak taco made me believe in God again.
August 29 · Daniel P Guy (Daniel Patrick)The reason for the 3 stars in atmosphere isn't for how the place looks but how you feel... man oh man its HOT in there. I was here for a birthday for my mother couldn't enjoy myself. But I had a saint of a waitress who brought me a portable fan. She was also wearing a fan.. Everyone at my table had to pass the fan around because we were physically DRIPPING sweat. But the tacos were great! Salsa fresh!
August 27 · Asia RuthThis restaurant used to be a church. It’s a very cute restaurant and bar. The staff were very nice & helpful. The food & drinks were great. They have a good happy hour.
