★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Honey Bear’s BBQ has been a personal favorite of mine for over a decade, dating all the way back to when they were located in downtown Phoenix. It’s one of those places that leaves a lasting impression from the first bite, and after all these years, the quality has stayed just as high. When it comes to BBQ, they really know what they’re doing. The flavor is always rich, smoky, and well balanced, and the meat no matter what you order just falls apart effortlessly. One of the standout things for me has always been how tender their BBQ meats are. Whether it’s brisket, pulled pork, or ribs, the texture is just right every time. There’s never any chewing struggle everything just melts in your mouth. That kind of consistency is rare these days, especially in spots that have been around this long. Their BBQ spicy sauce also adds the perfect touch without overpowering the natural flavors of the meat. And the sides? Just as impressive. From their beans to the mac and cheese, everything complements the main dish perfectly. You can tell they put just as much care into the sides as they do the meats, which isn’t always the case at other BBQ joints. Every plate feels like a full, complete meal comfort food done right. You walk out full and satisfied without needing anything extra.I also have to give major credit to their customer service. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve been greeted with a warm welcome and friendly service. Most recently, we decided to go on Father’s Day, fully expecting a long wait and a packed dining area. To our surprise, we were given the food in just 20 minutes, and the dining area was surprisingly relaxed. It made for an even better experience not rushed, not crowded, just good food in a comfortable setting.Honey Bear’s BBQ continues to be a top-tier spot in Phoenix in my eyes. They’ve been doing it right for over 10 years, and I don’t see myself stopping any time soon. Between the quality of the food, the friendly staff, and the consistently great experiences, it’s a place that earns every return visit. Whether you’re a BBQ lover or just looking for a satisfying meal, you really can’t go wrong with Honey Bear’s.
July 04 · Kevin CrayHad 2 meat brisket couldn't tell if it was smoked or just baked in an oven sauce is good not sweet. Baked beans were good coleslaw was ok.Paid 30.00 so price was a little high but not crazy
October 13 · J CThis is one of the best BBQ joints in Arizona. The food is spectacular and the atmosphere makes you feel like you're at home. The owner himself made my order and shook my hand after giving it to me. Never have I felt so respected and appreciated. I will always support mom and pop businesses and as proud Arizonans, all of you should as well.
May 13 · Justin NeelWhen I drove by Honey Bear's BBQ I was excited, thinking ooh finally some decent good BBQ food. Upon entering there where a couple of dine in patrons and 2 ahead of me in line. I look over the menu thinking their a little pricey but hopefully the food is worth it. It's my turn to place my order the women didn't seem like she wanted to be at work that day, no greeting or anything barely wanted to answer my questions she had this look like hurry up and order. Not very welcoming or inviting. I ordered the rib tip special with a side of corn, Mac n cheese and a slice of sweet potato pie. I wanted to another meat selection with my order but like I stated the woman wasn't really with doing her job, at least with me. About 15 to 20mins later I received my order. It's nice and hot, Mac n cheese rated 2 out ten by the kids, I give the rib tips a 4.5. They have phrase " you don't need teeth to eat our ribs" or something to that factor. In a sense you can get the job done with no teeth but the meat wasn't falling off the bone. It tasted as if it was missing something. The sweet potato pie I also rate that a 4 that crust was soggy on the bottom and the favor was fully there overall it wasn't worth the price. Just your average BBQ place!
March 18 · tasha wricksVery disappointed. The brisket was not recognizable as brisket. Was like scraps from the cutting board. If they had given the option or sold it as chopped brisket not sliced I would understand but this was neither. It was grey and bore no resemblance to actual smoked brisket. The sausage was waaaay overcooked. Was almost as if it was pregrilled then warmed in microwave. Mac and cheese side was average in taste and size.
