While the general atmosphere is casual and relaxed, perfect for groups and solo diners alike, the focus remains firmly on delivering comfort food with notable highlights. One such highlight, and a local favorite that has drawn attention, is their unique offering of Sour Cream Cheese Enchiladas, which are described as being stuffed with Philadelphia cream cheese, and topped with sour cream, cheddar, and scallions—a dish a local publication noted they had “never seen on any other menu.” The menu also boasts a variety of other enticing options like burritos, tacos, and sizzling seafood and meat plates, including dishes like the 'Camarones Cobijados' (Shrimp in a Blanket) and the hearty 'Mayan Parrillada'. Traditional Mexican soups like 'Pozole', 'Menudo', and 'Cocido de Res' (Beef Stew) are also available, showcasing a broad range of authentic flavors.
Patrons often praise the dining experience, noting that their plates arrive hot, and the chips are often hot and fresh. This attention to classic details contributes significantly to the nostalgic and enjoyable experience Jordan's aims to deliver. Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or a full, multi-course meal, the diverse offerings and welcoming environment make it a solid choice for a taste of Phoenix's Mexican food legacy.
The atmosphere at Jordan's is described as Casual, Cozy, and notably, Historic and Quiet. This setting, alongside its multi-generational family ownership, solidifies its status as a Central Phoenix classic. The dedication to quality is apparent, with customer reviews frequently praising specific dishes like the Green Chili Chimichanga and the Green Chili Burro. For those interested in an adult beverage with their meal, the restaurant is known for its "Great beer selection," and offers a full range of alcohol including cocktails, hard liquor, and wine. The bar onsite further enhances the dining experience for those looking to relax and enjoy a drink with their comfort food.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Stopped in for a lunch break and ordered a cheese enchilada with taco and rice meal with a brew on a Wednesday .... I have to say this place was initially feeling good as we sat in the bar area to eat and very soon we noticed we were not in the most customer appealing environment.... The bar seamed more like a storage area with certain particular items stuffed in corner and we had to wait to get service.... Once served it was almost like we were inconveniencing the place being there.... Be that as it may we ordered the lunch specials and then food came somewhat quick but if anyone thinks this place is on pace for say Manuel’s Mexican Restaurant then they are surely mistaken as the food was mediocre at best and looked like some basic fast home meal made out of a microwave.... I had high hopes but cannot recommend this Mexican restaurant to anyone and will avoid at all costs.
August 06 · Tom ConnellIt was our first time too . We were able to order lunch special and dinner specials. We didn’t have to do a la cart. When I was looking online, it said two minute service and they greeted us within a minute which I like. The guys in my family really liked it, said it was very enjoyable and I agree. The chips were hot and fresh and so delicious. Our little seven-year-old ate almost the whole bowl. Lol! We loved the atmosphere most definitely. Our plates were hot which reminded me of how they use to come back in the day.
April 03 · Sherrilyn MackI've been a loyal customer of this restaurant since I was six years old, but recent experiences have been disappointing. After moving back to the area from Grand Forks, ND, my husband and I gave it another chance. While the food was fine during our first two visits, our third visit was marred by a misunderstanding about tipping, which led to a confrontation with the host. The following week, we returned to celebrate some good news, but the waitress brought up the previous incident, questioning our behavior in front of others. This ruined our celebratory mood. On Mother's Day, the same waitress told us they were out of root beer, only to overhear another booth ordering it. My food was also subpar, with hardly any cheese and burnt edges. Given the poor service and atmosphere, we've chosen to dine elsewhere, opting for the Star Liner Diner, which offers a more positive experience.
July 25 · Erica ShrecengostThis place is super beautiful! The food not so great. The salsa tasted like spicy marinara sauce. I got the cheese enchilada, tamale, taco combo plate. The enchilada sauce was not tasteful, the beans had no flavor and neither did the rice. The tamale was not bad, but the taco was great! This is a Mexican restaurant so I expected to hear some Spanish music or mixed (English/Spanish) but it was only English music which was kinda disappointing. It was Christmas music which suits the holiday so that was fine.Overall, service was fantastic but I wouldn't come back due to the food. Kinda expensive for food that had little to no love.
December 22 · Carolina MurilloI was craving just good Mexican food and wow did I get that. I am a sucker for queso and they have the best queso sauce I’ve ever had in my life. I got the tostado and my man got the chimichanga. And omg it was DELICIOUS. We live in the neighborhood and will definitely be back. Also margaritas hit the spot. Only ask is if they could turn up the music a little haha ( I love some good Spanish music).
