This eatery is an essential stop for anyone craving a truly exceptional chicken sandwich, whether you are a local Tempe resident or just passing through the greater Phoenix area.
The core philosophy of Chik Pop centers on delivering an unparalleled chicken experience. They achieve this through a dedication to producing a perfectly cooked chicken thigh—one that boasts a satisfyingly crispy exterior while remaining remarkably tender and juicy on the inside. This meticulous preparation is the foundation for their signature 'sandos,' which go beyond the basic chicken sandwich to offer a variety of imaginative flavor profiles.
Signature menu items at Chik Pop include:
- OG Sando: The classic, featuring a crispy chicken thigh with the house OG rub, house slaw, and the noted "pink sauce" on a fresh brioche bun. This is the foundation of their offering, celebrated by reviewers for its balanced flavor and perfect crispiness.
- Hot Honey Sando: A popular choice that introduces a balanced heat and sweetness, featuring the crispy chicken thigh drenched in a house Calabrian chili hot honey sauce on a fresh brioche bun. Customer reviews confirm the spice level is approachable, offering a pleasant kick without being overwhelming.
- Maple Truffle Sando: A truly gourmet and unexpected twist, this sandwich combines the crispy chicken thigh with a truffle-zested maple sauce and chives on a fresh brioche bun, appealing to those seeking a savory-sweet, elevated flavor.
- Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich: For those who enjoy a deeper heat, this option features the crispy chicken thigh with traditional Nashville Hot sauce, house slaw, and pink sauce on a fresh brioche bun.
Each sando is a substantial, value-packed meal often ordered with a side of their highly-praised, perfectly crispy fries, which customers describe as being "spot on." Chik Pop is part of a collective of chef-driven kitchens, allowing diners to also access the full-service bar and other amenities of the larger food hall environment, enhancing the overall dining and social experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’m not sure why there are so many lower star reviews. This chicken sandwich was amazing. We got the OG, the hot honey, and the maple truffle, and they were all fantastic! Fries spot on. Splendid food. We did get there a little bit before they opened at noon, so we got the sandwiches in about 10 minutes. They have a huge beer selection, but they really definitely need a better selection of sodas to choose from. But chick pop is the real deal as far as chicken sandwiches go. And the pink sauce was amazing. Not sure why people have a problem with that. The hot honey is not too spicy. There is definitely a bit of a kick, but another reviewer said her husband has been on the toilet for 15 hours - that’s just a weak stomach that shouldn’t be eating spicy foods. This was not overly spicy. It was delicious.
August 15 · Curtis KellerI liked it!We got here at 11:25, so way too early since the ‘Pops don’t open until noon. But we had fun chatting it up in the Food Hall booths and looking at what the other booths had to offer. There were some good deals there (the lunch special and the $3 off street tacos for Taco Tuesday), but we were determined to avoid distractions. The sandwich was delivered to our table within maybe 10m, so not a long wait at all! We asked for a couple plates since we were sharing and they were really nice in bringing some over.Overall, I think it’s a decent sandwich at an incredible value. The bun was really soft and I think the crispiness of the fried chicken was perfect. For me, it was mostly sweet and not spicy at all (but I have a high spicy tolerance and YMMV), but still really well done. I think the pink sauce, pickles, and the little coleslaw they had going were great additions since they added more flavor and texture to every bite. Some people complained about it being saltier, but I didn’t find that to be the case at all.We also cut the sandwich in half and still didn’t finish everything, so it was a great value. An unexpected highlight for me was the fries. They were the perfect level of crispiness for me! ♥️Compared to similar sandwiches that I’ve had in the South, this didn’t quite make the cut — only because it had a few different things going on at once, and felt a little sweeter than necessary to me. It’s a wonderful sandwich made by a great visionary, not a traditionalist.Definitely check it out! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
August 19 · The Spork and TruthAs a true aficionado of Nashville hot chicken, I can confidently say the Chick Pop Honey Hot Chicken Sandwich is a game-changer and an absolute masterpiece. This isn't just a sandwich; it's a symphony of flavors and textures that deserves every bit of its five-star rating. The star of the show is, of course, the chicken. It's incredibly juicy and tender on the inside, encased in a perfectly crispy, golden-brown crust. But what elevates it to legendary status is the honey hot glaze. It strikes an impeccable balance—a fiery kick that hits the back of your throat, immediately soothed by a sweet, floral honey finish. It's not just heat for the sake of heat; it's a nuanced, layered spice that keeps you coming back for more. The slaw and pickles add the perfect cool, tangy crunch, cutting through the richness of the chicken and the heat of the sauce. And the brioche bun? Soft, buttery, and strong enough to hold up to the generous filling without getting soggy. Every bite is pure bliss. This sandwich is a must-try for any hot chicken lover!
August 22 · Gregory LeeStaff were very friendly and helpful with understanding the menu. The food itself was very good, I did not personally care for the pink sauce on the slaw, but it wasn’t bad. We got the Hot Honey Sando. Sweet and spicy but the spice was not lingering or overpowering.
August 03 · Bryan RussoFood from chik pop was amazing huge portions and delicious. Service was even better. Jessica was especially helpful and was great at describing the experience of Tempe eats. Definitely coming back
