Brave Korean BBQ Introduce
If you're an Arizona local in the Phoenix metro area looking for an engaging and flavorful dining experience, you’ve likely come across the growing popularity of Korean barbecue, often known as KBBQ. Brave Korean BBQ, located right in the heart of Tempe, presents itself as a dynamic all-you-can-eat (AYCE) destination that merges the traditional Korean grilling style with a wide-ranging, modern menu. While it is classified among local listings as a 'Steak House' due to its focus on high-quality grilled meats, the true heart of this establishment lies in the interactive, communal Korean barbecue format, positioning it as a standout Asian and Korean restaurant in the region.
The unique draw of KBBQ is the tableside grilling, allowing diners to cook various cuts of marinated and unmarinated meats to their personal preference. Brave Korean BBQ leans into this style by offering multiple AYCE tiers, making it a compelling choice for groups, college students, and families looking for both value and variety in their dining adventure. This approach moves beyond the typical steakhouse concept, offering a more hands-on, convivial atmosphere that’s often hard to find. It aims to serve not just a meal, but a full social experience centered around delicious, grilled items. It's a key spot for those in Tempe and surrounding areas seeking a lively, high-energy environment for lunch, dinner, or even late-night eats.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We really enjoy going to brave for a special occasions. The meat selection even with the lower tier is still very good! I wish they would just provide salt shakers instead of having it off to the side. A lot of the marinades and sauces are very sweet based and need to be balanced out with some salt which you have to scoop and sprinkle on with your fingers. Such a nitpick but it’s my biggest pet peeve when I go! The last time we went it was so hard to get the attention of our server. We went on a Friday night and it didn’t seem very busy, but they left tables dirty for at least an hour next to us.
July 03 · jess xoWe arrived at the restaurant around 9 PM with a group of three and opted for the "Brave" set, which costs over $40 per person.Right from the start, we encountered issues. Some of our plates and silverware were dirty, and my fiancé had to ask for replacements. Thankfully, the staff did bring clean ones upon request. Our first round of food came out fairly quickly, but the quality was extremely disappointing. The steak was thin and the beef tongue portion was laughable—just three small pieces. The spicy pork belly was nothing more than thin slices of pork belly with a squirt of chili sauce. The so-called "prime" short ribs were particularly bad: they were tough, chewy, and still had connective tissue on them. One piece was entirely bone, even though it was supposed to be boneless. To top it off, the steak still had ice on it—clearly straight from the freezer. After that, service completely fell apart. We didn’t see a server for over 40 minutes. During that time, we were stuck with a hot grill, no working vent, and no water. Considering there’s a 90-minute time limit, it’s outrageous to be left waiting that long, especially in those conditions.Several items we ordered never arrived, including the our 2nd order of beef tongue, sweet potato, lettuce, and rice paper. It took nearly 50 minutes to get a refill of water. Even more baffling, they didn’t serve any kimchi—or banchan at all. What kind of Korean BBQ place doesn’t offer banchan? In total, we only managed to get two rounds of food before we gave up and left. Our bill listed all the things we didnt get plus some things we never even ordered. We would have brought this issue up if it was not included in the AYCE price. But seriously for over $130 after tax, this was easily one of the worst KBBQ experiences we’ve ever had. We won’t be coming back and will absolutely warn others to avoid this place. There are far better Korean BBQ spots in the area, and we deeply regret wasting our time and money here.
August 20 · Lexi FirthMy husband and I love KBBQ and this was a location that we hadn't been to before and wanted to try it out. There were two different options for their AYCE: Brave $39.95 and Regular $27.95. We opted in for the regular since the only difference between the two options were 4 special cuts of meat. The selection on the regular AYCE was decent and all of the options to pick from were super delicious. When we were first sat at our table, our server had a hard time getting our gas plate to stay lit - she ended up having to get help but the issue was remedied relatively fast.Overall we had a great experience and believe the value of food to price point was well worth it.
August 04 · Jecelle LachHad a wonderful experience, our server was excellent and made sure to check in on us in a timely matter. They've taken in the feedback previous reviews have stated about separating beef and pork on their platters so they're not touching. Not overly crowded and was easily stuffed before our time was up. Brave has always been a great experience for me, please give it a try before you get deterred by the previous reviews.
September 12 · Michelle Diaz de LeonUsed to be my favorite Korean BBQ place. But I was really disappointed this time. They got a full house on a Monday night. But they only get 2 sever for the night. We waited 15 minutes for our server. Which is understandable. Dishes comes way slower then before. Things really ruined my night is after the first round we waited for 45 minutes until someone comes and takes our order. Also the hood is not working at all. We have to sit in a toxic environment for more than 2 hours. I really wish the management team can take action on this. As a long time customer I believe you guys can do better
