El WERO MARISQUERO Introduce
El WERO MARISQUERO, situated in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, is a premier 'Seafood restaurant' that specializes in authentic Mexican-style 'Mariscos.' It is a vibrant and essential destination for locals seeking fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned seafood in a landlocked state. The restaurant successfully cultivates an atmosphere that is both 'Casual' and 'Trendy,' making it a comfortable spot for a quick midday meal or a relaxed evening 'Dinner.' The focus is squarely on quality and authentic preparation, a welcome offering for the growing demand for Northern Mexican seafood specialties, particularly from the Sinaloan and Sonoran traditions, in the Valley.
The menu is a celebration of fresh, bold Mexican 'Comfort food,' with an emphasis on chilled, citrus-marinated delights that are perfect for the Arizona heat. Patrons rave about the massive portions and the solid quality of the seafood. Key offerings include:
- Cócteles (Seafood Cocktails): Popular choices like the 'Camaron' (Shrimp cocktail), 'Camaron Con Pulpo' (Shrimp and octopus), and the signature 'Campechana Especial' which includes scallops, octopus, cooked shrimp, and *aguachile* shrimp. These are noted for their fresh flavor and generous size, often making a single size a substantial meal.
- Aguachile: A regional 'local specialty' and a must-try dish for those who appreciate spice. This features raw shrimp cured in a zesty lime broth and seasoned with chile peppers, available in green or red sauce.
- Ceviches: Offering varieties such as 'Pescado' (Fish) and 'Camaron' (Shrimp) ceviche, available as a plate or in massive 'Charolas de Ceviche' (Ceviche Trays) designed for large groups or catering events.
- Botanas Mixtas: These shared platters, available for 1 to 10 people, are a 'Quick bite' or 'Small plates' showcase of the restaurant's best, featuring a mix of cooked and raw shrimp, octopus, and scallops.
While the focus is on seafood, the restaurant ensures a full dining experience by offering 'Alcohol' and 'Cocktails,' making it an ideal spot for a lively social gathering. The quality of the food and the large portions mean customers consistently feel they have received great value for their money.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1El Güero Marisquero serves tasty seafood cocktails, but there are a few details worth noting. All the cócteles are sold in one size — my cóctel de camarón con pulpo was $25, plus $3 for avocado. The flavor was fresh overall, but they left the seeds in the cucumber, which gave it a slightly bitter taste. There’s also a $1 surcharge to pay with a card. Still, the portion was generous, and the seafood quality was solid, so I’d come back — just hoping next time they take the extra step to remove the cucumber seeds.
August 10 · Nadia LozanoAlways had a good experience. Call in place order and pick up! Portions are huge 😍 and the price is just right! $25 can't beat it! But remember if you want Avocado it's + $3! The octopus is delicious 😋 everything is good. Oh and the raw shrimp that's camaron aguachile so yeah it's meant to be that way! I recommend 👌 We had the botana mixta and campechana! 😋
May 26 · Crystal GalindoAmazingly delicious! I would never have ordered food truck ceviche, but this truck came highly recommended by acquaintances. I've been back many times, including today.
June 28 · Alejandra RodriguezThe wait time is a little long but sooo worth it. Honestly the best mariscos spot I’ve gone to Arizona. It’s fresh and amount they serve is enough for three. Definitely my new spot.
September 07 · Nancy MarieCheap things aren’t good, and Good things aren’t cheap the Food is so worth it they make it fresh so yes it takes a little while that’s why I pre order 2-3 hours ahead weather I eat it there or take it home quality of food is freakin great, it’s not fast food so it’s not quick and easy I have spoken to the owner many times and thanked him for providing great food
