★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1When we pulled up to Tacos Al Pastor, it seemed like the staff had just come back from smoking weed in the back. Unfortunately, that same lack of focus carried over into the food. The service didn’t help either—the girl at the window was very rude, unwelcoming, and didn’t seem interested in being there. We ordered our food to go, but even then the attitude left a bad taste before the food ever did.We ordered the quesabirrias, which came out looking messy and thrown together. Instead of being rich and flavorful, they were burnt, dry, and completely lacking in taste. The pastor tacos, which should be the truck’s signature, were equally disappointing—the meat was dry, flavorless, and felt like they were made without any real passion. To make matters worse, our total came out to over $90, which felt outrageous for what didn’t seem like a lot of food. For the price they’re charging, the quality just doesn’t match up. Honestly, you can get much better and more authentic food at spots like Ta Carbon or Joe’s Tacos, and at an equally priced point. It’s especially sad because when this place first opened, the quality was noticeably better. It seems like ownership may have changed over the years, and the passion that once made this truck great has disappeared.Overall, a very disappointing experience. I truly want to support small businesses, but Tacos Al Pastor needs to seriously re-focus on quality, flavor, service, and consistency if they want to live up to their name and prices.
August 27 · Luis MontoyaTough to give 5 or 4 stars... food was decent to good. I didn't get tacos as I've been getting everywhere as they seemed expensive. Got a regular burrito it had decent flavor... the al pastor that came one it seemed more like chicken when I tasted a piece on its own. The tray the food came on was pretty gross. The red salsa was good the green one seemed very watery
September 12 · Satch GonzalesMy wife and I have been to this place multiple times a few months back. And I was the one that introduced it to her after eating here for years. The first picture is the quality that made the insane price worth the chaotic environment, wait times and insane prices in the Taco truck game in AZ. Last night, we stopped by after not having a chance to grab a bite for a good minute. WORST MISTAKE, chaos was the only guarantee this place provided. Our order, was 2 Pastor Tacos, 2 Pastor Vampiros, 3 Carne Asada and 1 Quesa Birra with an Horchata. Wait time was the usual and made me had the same expectations in food quality that charges 4-5 dollars per taco. My palate was horribly violated, horchata tasted like they mixed it with toilet water. Should have just brought our own water at that point. My wife knows I normally don’t use salt or limes on my food because if the food is good to me there is no need. However, that’s what I needed to finish the uphill battle on my plate with toilet water horchata as my hydration source. Portion and taste now was nowhere near 5 dollars, so I am glad we at least we don’t have the option to leave a tip when buying because they already robbed us and others with 5 dollars in the AZ Taco truck game. Now, I highly recommend for people to stick with the usual 2.50-3 per taco in AZ taco trucks for at least common sense instead of having your taste buds and wallet diabolically wronged. Not trying to be mean, just make 4-5 dollar tacos make sense please.
September 14 · Gabriel MaytorenaI literally just left. First off their prices are ridiculous and are not worth the portions or the food. Then I ordered Burris tacos with cheese sour cream and cilantro and onions. Then when picking up my food I ask for radish and onions. Guy tells me yes the have them. So I get home and unwrap my food only to find no cheese or sour cream on tacos and cucumbers and lime but no radish and onions. The food is nasty also and meat is super dry. Never again will I give these people my money. Wish I could rate 0 stars. I will keep going to Arizona Taco King on camelback because they have excellent service a great prices and always get my order correct
March 23 · Ranada HughesBest tacos in the west Valley. The carne asada and al pastor are on point! Pretty quick service too. The salsas are good too! Just be sure to check your bag because they sometimes forget a thing or two. Nevertheless, highly recommend 10/10!!
